Bare 245 in (20 ft 5 in). Plus 5%: 257.3 in (21 ft 5 in). Plus 10%: 269.5 in (22 ft 5.5 in). Plus 10% and a 42 in landing: 315.7 in (26 ft 3.5 in).

In yards and metres

245 in is 6.8 linear yards or 6.22 m. With 10% waste, order 7.5 yards or 6.9 m.

Where a seam might fall

If your supplier's longest single piece is 6 m, a 6.9 m order needs two pieces. The seam planner works out which step the join lands on so you can shift it to a riser or a landing.
